Go The Distance

It's just another round, just another fight
They try to knock me down, but you know I'm still alright
And I know down inside, that I'm not like other men
So I pick myself up, and I'm back on my feet again
And I swear, I'm gonna go the distance, oh yeah

So many times, I been down there on the ground
But I gather up my strength and I go another round
So many times I just wanna shout
You may knock me down, but you still ain't knocked me out
Cos I swear, I swear I'm gonna go the distance, yes I am

Now I may be bleeding, but I'm on my feet
I may be beaten up, but still I ain't been beat
I may stumble and fall, and be tired as hell

But I'm determined to be standing, when they ring the final bell
Cos I swear, I wanna go the distance, yes I'am
Yes I swear, I'm gonna go the distance
I'm going all the way with it
I ain't gonna let nobody get me down
I'm gonna go the distance baby

Lookin' For The Promised Land

Lord came to Moses, he took him by the hand.
He said I want you to lead your people, to the promised land.
Now your brother faro, he might try to start a fight.
But believe me Mo, everything will be allright.
When you're looking for the promised land.
When you're looking for the promised land.

Lord came to Daniel, said Danny boy, my friend.
Somebody's gonna take you, and throw you in the lion's dan.
But believe me Danny, don't you worry about no cat.
I'll be right beside you, and the lion can't do you bad.

And all that they wanted, was a place where they could be.
Living their lives, standing tall and free.
My brothers and sisters, it's the same for you and me,
we're looking for the promised land,
we're looking for the promised land.
Yes we are, nononononono....
All that they wanted, was a place were they could be,
living their lives, standing tall and free.
My brothers and sister, it's the same for you and me,
we're looking for the promised land,
we're looking for the promised land.

Lord came to Doctor King, said Marley won't you listen up.
I want you to lead you're people, to the mountaintop.
In the beginning of the journey, they took a life away.
Now they can kill a man, but the dream lives on the way.

And all that they wanted, was a place were they could be.
Living their lives, standing tall and free.
My brothers and sisters, it's the same for you and me,
we're looking for the promised land,
we're looking for the promised land,
we're looking for the promised land,
we're looking for the promised land,
we're looking for the promised land,
we're looking for the promised land,
we're looking for the promised land,
we're looking for the promised land.

Recovery

I let you in my life
And you took all control
And I gave you my body
You quickly took my soul
And I lost all my friends
I even lost my family
I lost my family
And now I'm trying to recover
For what I let you do to me
I let you do to me

And one day I hit the bottom
I had nowhere else to go
At first I tried to deny it
That I could ever sink so low
My self respect was gone
And you know I finally had to see
Yes I finally had to see
And now I'm trying to find my way back
From what I let you do to me
From what I let you do to me

And I know I always will be
I'll always be in recovery
Yes I will
And I always will be
I'll always be in recovery
In recovery
I know I never will be free
You'll always be a part of me
You'll always be a part of me
Yes you will

No it's one day at a time
I just try to make it through
And sometime I get the craving
And I stop and think of you
And I find my self remembering
I remember how it use to be
I remember how it use to be
And as long as I ever living
I know, I know I never will be free
I never will be free

And I always will be in recovery
I'll be in recovery, I'll be in recovery
I'll always gonna be,
Yes I'll always gonna be in recovery

I Saw My Mama Cryin

I saw my mama cryin'
I heard her weep in morn
I saw my mama cryin'
And I heard her weep in morn
And I reached right out and help her
So she would not feel so alone

I saw my mama struggle
But she never did complain
I saw my mama struggle
But she never did complain, no, no-o
When she thought I wasn't lookin'
You know her face was filled with pain, Lord

One day I found my mama
Standing in the backyard cryin'
I asked her what was wrong
She said she was getting tired and tryin'
Then she said, don't worry son, it's just a passin'
Face
She dried her eyes and smiled at me, said: it's bound
To be some better days

I saw my mama cryin'
I heard her weep in morn, yes I did
And I reached right out and help her
So she would not be so alone, lone, lone, lone

I saw her getting' older
As we move from place to place
I saw mama getting' older
As we move from place to place
And when death came 'round and took her
I saw a peaceful smile upon her face, yes I did, yes I
Did

I saw my mama cryin'
Oh Lord, I saw my mama cryin'
I saw my Mama cryin'
I was just a Boy and saw her cry, cry, cry, cry, cryin'

To Begin Again

To begin again, was all that I needed
and maybe win again, but it seemed so far away.
And to quit the game was lookin so easy.
It was all the same, with the walls closin' in.

Everybody was dancin', every time the music played,
surrounded by walls of steel, they couldn't hear a word I'd say.
Wearing a mask of glory, so easy to pretend
I'm tired of the same old story,
I need to begin again.

And to live again and put this behind me
and to look to the sky and to breathe again
and to feel again, where no one can find me
And to taste the wind, and not be hide from the rain.

Everybody is laughing; they don't know the reason why.
In rooms filled with smoke and whiskey, nobody looks you in the eye.
With superficial conversation it's so hard to make a friend.
To find another destination, I need to begin again.

When I look around me I just wanna run away.
Everbody talks so loudly, but no one has a word to say.
I wanna see with eyes of wonder, like the innocent children.
I need a place to make my stand, then I can begin again
I need to begin again

Brother's Keeper

I wish supposed to be a brother's keeper
I wish supposed to hear him when he calls

I wish supposed to be a brother's keeper
I wish supposed to hear him when he calls

Wish supposed to catch him
Catch him when he falls

Jesus said to feed the hungry
Jesus said to help the poor

Jesus said to feed the hungry
Jesus said to help the poor

So many this so called christians
They don't believe in that no more

I wish supposed to be a brother's keeper
Want to hear him when he calls

Supposed to be a brother's keeper
I believe supposed to hear him when he calls

I believe supposed to help him
I believe supposed to catch him when he falls
